As part of the on-going actions to improve the aesthetic of the home, wife and me have decided to look for ways to store away the book collections of the 2 kids.
Current look:
Idea:
So, the idea is to make cabinets that could store all the books away and with doors to hide the books.
This way, the current corners of the home would look neater.
We did the same with the shoe racks, and it felt good and wondering why we didn't do it earlier (i know, because we were lazy!)
So, the next steps is to find the right furnitures.
Unfortunately, we couldn't because we wanted to maximum the space of the corners. We don't want something to high that it looks big and bulky in the living room.
We then settled on a height that is good enough to be placed below the window.
So, the max. height would have to be 95cm.
Then we want to have a cabinet with enough length to take the enter area next to the TV, and below the windows.
The only way we can do this is to have the furniture custom made.
Other than the design, we also have to decide on the type of material.
Plywood is the best (with certain budget in mind), but MDF is even lower cost.
Since we're thinking that we need the cabinet for 10 years ish, then MDF should be ok.
